Responsibilities of the Economic Analysis Division
- The Economic Analysis Division provides economic policy guidance and research-based analyses of economic issues which are related to the OeNB’s tasks. Its work serves as the basis for the OeNB’s monetary and economic policy positions. The division also provides expertise on the Austrian economy through its research and analytical work in national and international expert committees.
- The Economic Analysis Division is responsible for drawing up forecasts of economic, inflationary and budget developments in Austria (semiannual projections of Austrian economic developments, quarterly economic activity forecasts) and for developing and maintaining the necessary analytical instruments, forecasting models and databases.
- Through its workshops for experts, the Economic Analysis Division addresses current monetary and economic policy issues.
- It manages the content of the OeNB publications Monetary Policy and the Economy, Proceedings of OeNB Workshops, Annual Report and Financial Stability Report (in cooperation with the Financial Markets Analysis and Surveillance Division) as well as of reports to the OeNB’s General Council; the division is also responsible for editing numerous OeNB economics publications.
- The Economic Analysis Division runs the office of the Federal Debt Committee.
