Currency Infrastructure
The Cashier’s Division is the OeNB’s main cash office. Together with the branch offices and the GSA cash services company, it supplies the economy with banknotes and coins as needed and ensures that the currency in circulation is of high quality.
The OeNB’s branch offices are mainly responsible for supplying local banks with currency and for conducting regional public relations activities.
Geldservice Austria (GSA) is a cash services company that provides a wide range of cash services in various areas: banks and retail businesses, euro and foreign currencies, banknotes and coins, gold, currency shipments, and currency pickup, delivery and destruction.
