Notes:

This table shows the income earned by Austrian direct investment enterprises from the provision of financial capital abroad, such as distributed profit, reinvested earnings and income from intracompany loans; extraordinary income is not included. The industry refers to the activity of the Austrian investor.

Legal basis:

Legal basis for compilation: Austria: Article 44 Nationalbank Act, Exchange Control Act 2004.

International: SDDS and Articles of Agreements of the IMF, ECB guideline; Regulation (EC) No 184/2005 on Community statistics concerning balance of payments, international trade in services and foreign direct investment.

Methodology:

Distributed profit and earnings on intracompany loans are compiled on a monthly basis, total income on an annual basis (unless preliminary estimates are used).

Reporting institutions:

About 1,100 direct investment enterprises in Austria.
