Austrian Bond Yields

Notes:

This table shows issue yields and secondary market yields in Austria, broken down by groups of issuers.

Issue yields(primary market yields):

The issue yield is a volume-weighted average of euro-denominated fixed-rate issues, with the amount of the yield known at the time of issue. Regular issues made during the period covered, if any – issues of i.e. convertible bonds, warrant bonds, index-linked bonds and private placements – are not considered in the calculation of issue yields.The column “central government” shows only values of government bonds.“Domestic issuers total” includes bonds issued by the central government, banks (credit institutions as defined in the Austrian Banking Act) and any other domestic issuers.The Oesterreichische Kontrollbank (OeKB) stopped providing issue yield totals for the “domestic issuers” column in August 2005.

Secondary marketyields:

The average secondary market yield corresponds to a weighted average of the yields of Austrian schilling- or euro-denominated issues quoted on Wiener Börse AG.To be included in the calculation of secondary market yields, issues must fulfill the following criteria: They must be quoted on the Official Market and must have a fixed yield and a residual maturity of more than one year.Issues of medium-term fixed-rate notes, federal treasury bills and notes, bank bonds issued by specialized banks, private placements, convertible bonds, cum-warrant bonds, index-linked issues, issues with other additional rights or growth debentures, if any, are not considered in the calculation of issue yields.

Group yields reflect an average of the secondary market yields of the individual issues within the group, weighted by the volume outstanding according to the applicable redemption schedule.The monthly, quarterly and annual figures are based on the arithmetic mean of the calculated trading-day figures.
