EBA STEP2 Access via the OeNB

The European Commission’s decision that, as of July 1, 2003, the same fees were to be charged for domestic and for intra-EU payments, was a milestone on the way toward the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA).

With its STEP2 system, the Euro Banking Association (EBA) provides credit institutions with the technical infrastructure required for the cost-effective and speedy processing of credit transfers. 

The OeNB provides access to EBA STEP2 for all participating Austrian banks and has served as a hub for incoming and outgoing intra-EU payments since November 3, 2003.
