Securities include equity and investment fund shares (shares and investment fund shares), long-term debt securities (with an original maturity of more than one year) and short-term debt securities (with an original maturity of up to one year). Financial derivatives are excluded. Transactions are valued at market prices. Balance of payments (flow): Positive balance: capital outflow/export. Negative balance: capital inflow/import. Net changes in stocks regarding the international investment position (IIP) might be caused by transactions, valuation effects (price- and exchange rate effects) and reclassifications. By definition, reserve assets only consist in assets and thus represent net assets. |
