comment This measure of unemployment adopts the Labour Force Method, following guidelines of the ILO to facilitate international comparison. Both the number of employed and unemployed persons is determined via household surveys. The self-employed are included. A very broad definition of employment is adopted as every person which worked at least one hour in the week preceding the survey is counted as employed. The data are collected by ST.AT, the rate of unemployment is then calculated by Eurostat (with the use of inter- and extrapolation). The latest data are estimates of the Austrian Public Employment Service and can therefore differ from the final Eurostat results.
