comment | This indicator shows inflows and outflows related to foreign currency borrowing scheduled within the next 12 months by the monetary authority. Borrowing activities comprise e.g. issuing securities denominated in foreign currencies or accepting foreign currency deposits by the monetary authority. Inflows and outflows related to repurchase agreements are not included. Inflows stem from borrowing, outflows are generated by interest or redemption payments. There are three different residual maturities: up to one month, over one month and up to three months, over three months and up to one year. It is insignificant whether the counterparty is a resident or a nonresident of the euro area and whether the counterparty is headquartered in the euro area or not. Valuation is at nominal values. A negative sign (-) indicates outflows, a positive sign (+) indicates inflows. |
