comment In order to reflect and represent total economic activity, a composite indicator, the EU Economic Sentiment Indicator combines judgements and attitudes of producers and consumers. Business and consumer surveys provide these judgements and anticipations for the different components of the economy: industry, consumers, construction and retail trade. Therefore the economic sentiment indicator is a composite indicator made up of the four confidence indicators having different weights: Industrial confidence indicator [40%]; Consumer confidence indicator [20%]; Construction confidence indicator [20%]; Retail trade confidence indicator [20%]
