The changeover from ESA 1995 to ESA 2010 may cause breaks in the data series as of October 2014. As of January 2016, alternative investment funds were included in the reporting population, this may cause breaks in the data series. Values from December 2008 onwards are based on an updated form of data collection in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 958/2007 of the ECB on statistics on the assets and liabilities of investment funds (ECB/2007/8) and its successor texts. The main difference to the previously published figures is, on the one hand, the monthly frequency (previously annual) and, on the other hand, the availability of additional data on the counterparty (for example country and sector).
As of January 2016 alternative investment funds were included in the reporting population, this may cause breaks in the data series .
¹ Net transactions result from the value of investment fund certificates purchased minus those sold by investors, or distributions made by the funds during the observation period. Transaction data for this table is available from December 2015 onwards.
