Supervisory statistics

Supervisory statistics compiled by the Oesterreichische Nationalbank support banking and financial market supervisors – i.e. the Austrian Financial Market Authority and the OeNB – by providing information on the development of the banking sector. Moreover, the OeNB draws on supervisory statistics in the pursuit of its oversight function for payment systems.

The supervisory reporting framework requires credit institutions operating in Austria to keep the OeNB informed about its activities and operations, financial conditions and risks. The OeNB’s role is to process the corresponding data with a view to supporting banking supervision in Austria.
