Cash handling training courses
The OeNB offers free training and information for professional cash handlers working in banks, retail or tourism, for instance. One key focus is on learning how to use the “feel, look and tilt” method for banknote authenticity checks.
Euro cash authentication training for bank staff – online
This online training course is aimed at cash handlers as defined in Article 79 paragraph 1 Nationalbank Act 1984 and Article 6 paragraph 1 Regulation (EC) No 1338/2001 (e.g. banks, cash-in-transit companies, casinos, public cash offices).
The e-learning tool comprises two modules on euro banknotes and coins, including a final knowledge test. Upon successful completion of the final test, participants will receive a certificate confirming their attendance, which is valid for two years.
Duration: approximately 60 min.

EUR cash authentication training for retailers – online
This online training course is aimed at staff working in the retail, commercial and industrial sectors and similar fields.
The e-learning tool comprises one module on euro banknotes and coins, including a final knowledge test. Upon successful completion of the test, participants will receive a certificate confirming their attendance, which is valid for two years.
Duration: approximately 30 min.
