Individual trust and expectation indicators

The OeNB Euro Survey collects data on the trust of individuals in currencies and institutions as well as individual expectations.

Trust in currencies

• Extent of agreement with the statement: Over the next five years the euro will be very stable and trustworthy; annual averages across time

• Extent of agreement with the statement: Over the next five years, the local currency will be very stable and trustworthy; annual averages across time

• Relative trust - euro versus national currencies; annual averages across time

Trust in the U.S. dollar

• Extent of agreement with the statement: Over the next five years, the U.S. dollar will be very stable and trustworthy

Trust in institutions

• Trust in the European Union; annual averages across time

• Trust in the national government; annual averages across time

• Trust in banks, annual averages across time

• Extent of agreement with the statement: Depositing money at banks is very safe in my country at present; annual averages across time

Individual expectations

• Extent of agreement with the statement: Over the next five years the economic situation of my country will improve; annual averages across time (2007–2020)

• Extent of agreement with the statement: Over the next twelve months the economic situation of my country will improve; annual averages across time (2021 onwards)

• Extent of agreement with the statement: Over the next twelve months I expect the financial situation of my household to get better
