The exhibitions of the Money Museum bring to life the multifaceted world of money, monetary history and central banking. Currently on show at the museum are the exhibitions “Money” and "EURO CASH – 20 years of euro banknotes and coins".
Austria’s largest gold coin: Vienna Philharmonic
The EUR 100,000 Vienna Philharmonic, the second largest gold coin in Europe and third largest in the world today, produced by Austria’s mint, Münze Österreich AG, in 2004 to mark the 15th anniversary of the Vienna Philharmonic gold bullion coin, is currently on display at the OeNB’s Money Museum.
Only 15 such coins with a diameter of 37 cm and weighing 31 kg each have been struck.
