The Olga Radzyner Award was established to commemorate Olga Radzyner, former head of the OeNB’s Foreign Research Division and a driving force in building up and expanding the OeNB’s special expertise in economic research on Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (CESEE). Olga Radzyner died in a tragic accident in August 1999. The Olga Radzyner Award was bestowed upon young economists from the CESEE region for excellent research on topics of European economic integration.
The Franz Weninger Award was established to commemorate Franz Weninger, former head of the OeNB’s Economic Analysis Division, who died in an accident in the 1990s. The Franz Weninger Award was granted for outstanding master’s and doctoral theses in the field of monetary theory and monetary policy.
