Requests and applications may be submitted via mail, fax, e-mail to posteingang@oenb.at in person during business hours (OeNB mailroom, 1090 Vienna, Rotenhausgasse 4) or digitally using authorized services, to be deemed submitted in line with the 1991 General Administrative Procedures Act (Allgemeines Verwaltungsverfahrensgesetz).

Personal information transmitted in the course of inquiries are processed pursuant to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG). Detailed information on how OeNB processes personal data is available at Data protection.

Freedom of Information Act

Since September 1, 2025, Austria grants a constitutional right to access information from public authorities and public sector companies. The new Austrian Freedom of Information Act (Informationsfreiheitsgesetz, IFG) has replaced the principle of official secrecy.

• Describe the information you are requesting as precisely as possible
• Provide appropriate proof of your identity (Section 13 para. 4 IFG)
