Connecting positions with transactions in inward direct investment broken down by industry
This table decomposes changes of the stock of Inward Direct Investment into equity transactions, intra-group loans, reinvested earnings, and “other changes” which comprise of price changes, exchange-rate changes and reclassifications. The table is broken down by economic activity of the resident affiliate. In contrast to the balance of payments statistics this table does not include real estate owned by foreigners and resident SPEs.

Data on DI transactions are collected monthly; additional information, primarily useful for the calculation of reinvested earnings, is provided by the direct investment survey.
